Upon arrival to the home setting, Laylah appeared to be in a positive mood evident by her facial such as a smile on the face. QMHP-C inquired about her day. Laylah discussed with QMHP-C that her day was going well, she and her mother still be arguing about stuff but, âThat is not going to changeâ. Mother reports when she cannot have her needs met, she will get upset with others in the home with behaviors lasting about 10 minutes in duration. 2. Behavior: She demonstrated inappropriate gestures towards her mother in the manner of rolling her eyes and sucking her teeth when discussing her behaviors at which her mother reports these behaviors last up to 10 minutes in duration. 1.Intervention: QMHP-C began session by inquiring about Laylahâs emotional wellbeing. QMHP-C informed both Laylah and Ms. Boone that this session was going to focus on building a positive parent-child relationship, parenting skills and identifying needs. QMHP-C engaged Laylah and her mother in a discussion to allow each other to express their feelings at the present time. QMHP-C used modeling and role playing to teach the mother effective ways to talk to Laylah to allow Laylah to communicate her needs appropriately. 2. Intervention: QMHP-C identified activities for Laylah and her mother to promoted connectedness. QMHP-C engaged Laylah in an activity to promote connectedness. QMHP-C monitored the dynamics between the two as they participated in the activities. QMHP-C emphasized the importance of practicing parenting skills consistently. 1. Response: Laylah appeared to be receptive to QMHP-Csâ interventions and services that were provided to her during the session. Laylah and her mother expressed feelings of agitation and frustration. Laylah continues to harbor embarrassing feelings regarding her motherâs behavior and her home life. She demonstrated inappropriate gestures towards her mother in the manner of rolling her eyes and sucking her teeth. 2. Response: Ms. Boone has little knowledge of the needs that Laylah wants met. Ms. Boone is inconsistent with setting boundaries and limits with Laylah in the home. Laylah uses her motherâs lack of consistent parenting skills to manipulate situations in the home.
